Samuel Forbes Rockwell’s (my grandfather’s) picture of his mother, Mary Gilbert Davis Rockwell, was in my mother’s, Caroline Rockwell Stevens’, house in Amesbury before 2014. But after she passed away in 2014, it was nowhere to be found. The case and the note were found, but there was no sign of the early daguerreotype. At least we have a photograph of the daguerreotype.

I did a quick google search and she was born in 1847 or 1848, Grand father guessed picture was from around 1858. so he guessed she was maybe 10 or 11 years old…  What a cool old picture and to think we still have it today. Well a copy of it..   Nat
